Vangi Bhath Powder (Homemade)
Recipe: Vangi Bhath Powder (Homemade)
Ingredients:
1) Chana dal - 1pau/glass
2) Urad dal - 1pau/glass
3) Coriander seeds/Dhaniya - 1pau/glass
4) Dalchini/chakke/cinammon stick - 8-10 pieces
5) Cloves/Lavanga - 2-4 pieces
6) Red chilli Byadgi - 1pau/glass
7) Red chilli Guntur - 1pau/glass
8) Methi/Fenugreek seeds- 1tsp
9) Marathi moggu/kapok buds - 1-2 pieces
10) Dry coconut/Kobbari - 1.5 Pau/glass
Preparation Method:
1) Take a pan, and heat it on medium flame.
2) Once hot, roast each ingredient mentioned above separately untill it turns brown. (reason being is to avoid over roasting the ingredients as each of them take different times to roast).
3) Turn off the gas and let it cool completely. Then grind all the ingredients to a fine smooth powder.
4) Vangibhath powder is ready.
5) You can store it in airtight container (refrigeration optional) and use it to make varieties of rice dishes.
Quick Note: This powder can be used for any south Indian vegetable rice dishes/ vegetable bhath eg: Brinjal, Capsicum, Cabbage, Mix veg etc...
