Onion Samosa | Irani Samosa in readymade base

Recipe: Onion Samosa /Instant cooking | Readymade sheets/base

Ingredients: 

1) Readymade base/Samosa sheets or patti (available in stores) 

2) Onion chopped - 2 large

3) Turmeric powder -1tsp

4) Red chilli powder - 2tsp

5) Dhaniya powder - 1tsp

6) Jeera powder - 1tsp

7) Salt - 1.5tsp

8) Chiroti Rava - 2tbsp or Thin poha / paper avlakki -1cup

9) Coriander leaves for garnishing.

10) Oil for frying


Preparation Method: 

1) Take a bowl add chopped onions, turmeric powder, chili powder, dhaniya powder, jeera powder, salt and mix it. 

2) Add poha or chiroti rava and mix well. Adding poha helps in absorbing the moisture from the onion.

3) Add freshly chopped coriander leaves and mix all together. 

4) Mix 1/4 cup maida with some water and make a smooth paste for binding/sticking the corners. 

5) Take a sheet/patti and put 1-1.5 tsp of filling and start folding like a triangle (As shown in my video). 

6) Apply maida paste on corners while folding so that it sticks well and you get your perfect shape of samosa. 

7) Heat oil in a kadai, drop the samosa gently into the hot oil and fry till they turn golden brown. 

8) Serve with pudina chutney or tomato sauce.
