Tomato Pulav / Tomato Rice
Recipe: Tomato pulav
Ingredients:
1) Basmati Rice -1Pau/glass (qty as required)
2) Onion chopped - 2 large
3) Tomato chopped - 6-7 no's
4) Green chilli, ginger garlic paste - 3-4 tbsp (qty of chilli as per spice level)
5) Jeera - 2tbsp
6) Bay leaf - 2 -3 no's
7) Dalchini - 1-2 no's
8) Star anise - 2-3 no's
9) Turmeric powder - 2tsp
10) Grated coconut - half cup.
11) Red chilli powder - 2tsp
12) Salt + Oil + Water
13) Coriander Leaves for garnishing.
Preparation Method:
1) Soak raw basmati rice for about 15-20 min before starting the pulav and keep aside.
2) Then, take a kadai, add oil. Once heated add jeera, green chilli, ginger garlic paste and fry well.
3) Now add the whole Garam masala spices - Bay leaf, Dalchini and star anise, turmeric and onion & fry it until it turns golden brown.
4) Then add Chopped tomatoes into it and mix well.
5) Next, add Salt and red chilli powder 2 tsp each and mix them well.
6) Add the soaked rice.
7) Next, add the soaked Basmati rice to the kadai and Mix it, let the masala coat the rice well, fry for about 5 min. You will start getting a nice aroma of the rice and masala
8) Then, add water - for 1 glass of rice put 2.5 glass of water and pressure cook it or cook it in an electric rice cooker.
9) If your using electric cooker then transfer the mix and then add water (As shown in my video)
10) Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and grated coconut.
You can Serve the pulav with Papad ( I dont find the raitha suitable for this dish).
The Delicious Tomato Pulav is ready to Serve & Eat!!
