Paneer Paratha - Indian flatbread
Recipe: Paneer Ke Parathe / Cottage cheese flatbread
Let's see what all you need to make this - Ingredients:
For the dough: (Regular chapathi dough)
Whole Wheat Flour – 4cups or as required
Salt – a pinch
Oil - as needed for mixing.
Water – as required
For Stuffing:
Milky mist Paneer (grated) – 400gms (you can use any brand of your choice)
Onion chopped – 1 large
Green chilli chopped – 1-2nos
Coriander/dhaniya Powder – 1½ tsp
Ginger garlic paste - 2tbsp
Cumin seeds– 1tbsp
Ajwain - 1tsp
Red Chilli Powder – 1-2tsp
Garam Masala – 1tsp
Turmeric powder - 1tsp
Salt – to taste
Coriander leaves - freshly chopped
Preperation Method:
1) First let's knead the dough for making paratha, combine the dough in a bowl with adding above ingredients - set aside to rest for 10 minutes.
2) Grate the paneer, add chopped onion & all the above mentioned spices (green chillies, ginger garlic paste, coriander powder, cumin seeds, Ajwain, red chilli powder, turmeric, salt, and garam masala) finally freshly chopped coriander leaves and mix well.
3) Now let's divide the dough into small round balls as per how many we need to make.
4) Roll the dough ball into a thick disk and stuff it with the paneer filling and seal it well to avoid the stuffing to come out.
5) Top it with some flour, and roll the sealed ball of dough to be slightly flatter, meduim thickness should be fine.
6) Now cook it on the tawa flip it twice to make sure it’s cooking on both sides and drizzle some butter/oil on top, by now, it should start puffing & look golden brownish in colour the perfect roasting gives perfect taste.
7) Once it's done take it off the gas and transfer to serving plate.
This quantity of paneer makes about 10-11 parathas.
Garama garam Paneer ke parathe is ready to eat!!
Serve hot with Curd/dahi or pickle for that amazing taste.
