Mushroom & Black eyed Beans Curry/ Halsande Kalina Palya

Recipe: Mushroom & Black eyed beans curry / Halsande Kalina Palya


Ingredients:
1) Black eyed beans/Halsande Kaalu -1 glass (qty as required) 
2) Mushroom - 200gms sliced. 
3) Onion chopped - 2-3 large 
4) Tomato chopped - 2-3 no's 
5) Jeera - 2tbsp 
6) Laung/lavanga - 2 no's 
7) Dalchini - 2-3 no's
8) Turmeric powder - 1tsp 
9) Red chilli powder - 2tsp 
10) Dhaniya powder -1tsp 
11) Jeera powder - 1tsp 
12) Salt + Oil + Water 
13) Coriander Leaves

Preparation Method:
1) Soak 1 glass Black eyed beans/Halsande kaalu in water for 5-6 hours or overnight. 
2) Drain the water, add fresh water to it along with salt and pressure cook for 4 whistles.
3) Next, wash and clean mushrooms (qty as required) 
4) Slice the mushrooms as shown in my video
5) Heat oil in a kadai, add the sliced mushrooms, fry them. until they get slightly brown and keep aside. 
6) In the same kadai heat oil again and add jeera, laung/lavanga, Dalchini, chopped onions and fry till it becomes translucent. 
7) Add chopped tomatoes and fry well. 
8) Then add 1 tsp Turmeric powder, 2tsp red chilli powder, 1 tsp dhaniya powder, 1tsp jeera powder and mix them all together. 
9)Once its cooked well add the mushrooms to it and mix well. 
10) Now add the cooked black eyed beans/ halsande kaalu to it and mix it again. 
11) Now add 1tsp salt to it (note that salt has been added while cooking the beans, so add carefully) 
12) Then, add little water to it and let it cook for 5min. 
13) Also note the consistency of the curry will be slightly watery (As shown in my video)
14) Garnish with chopped coriander leaves. 

You can Serve this curry with Chapathi/roti or Rice.
