Doodh Peda: A Quick Sweet recipe - Milk Peda
Recipe: Doodh Peda / Milk Peda- Indian Sweets Festive Special
Ingredients:
1) Milk powder - 2cups
2) Milkmaid - 400gms
3) Elaichi powder - 2tsp
4) Ghee - 4tbsp
5) Kesar/Saffron - 2tsp
6) Pistachios for garnish.
Preparation Method:
1) Take a kadhai/pan and heat 2 tbsp ghee.
2) Add nestle milkmaid/condensed milk into the kadhai, keep stirring continuously until it thickens (As shown in my vid
eo)
3) When it starts boiling add 2 equal cups of milk powder into it and mix well.
4) Keep stirring continuously to avoid lumps in the Peda mix.
5) Once the mix starts separating from the sides of the kadhai, it's almost done. You will notice the mix getting a little stiff.
6) Now, add saffron/kesar diluted in 1/2tsp milk & elaichi powder for flavour.
7) Also at this stage you can add 2tbsp Ghee into it & mix well.
8) Once it's done, take it off the gas and transfer to a bowl to allow it to cool for 2min (As shown in the video)
9) Roll the Peda when its slightly hot itself, if not, the mix might get hard and would make it difficult to make the perfect peda.
10) Grease your palm with ghee, take meduim portion of the mix and roll it into a peda (As Shown in my video)
11) Decorate the peda as you wish (I've made some design with toothpicks, as shown in my video) You can make any of your choice.
12) Now take a plate and arrange the pedas. Garnish with pista in the centre. (As shown in the video)
Tip: In step #7 make sure you add ghee and check if peda mix is getting stiff & separating from the sides of the kadhai. Turn off the gas immediately and do not overcook since that will make the Peda harder in texture.
