Southekayi Dose / Cucumber Dosa - Southindian Breakfast

Recipe: Cucumber Dosa/Southekayi Dose 


Ingredients: 

1) Rice - 1Pau / Glass 

2) Cucumber - 2 Large 

3) Coriander leaves - handful 

4) Salt to taste

5) Oil as required 


Preparation Method: 

1) Firstly soak rice in water for 4-5 hours or overnight. 

2) Take 2 large cucumber , peel the skin and cut them in large chunks. ( As shown in the video) 

3) Now take a mixer jar, add soaked rice, cucumber & freshly washed coriander leaves into the jar (As shown in my video) 

4) Don't add any water as the cucumber has water content in it already. 

5) Blend into a fine smooth batter. 

6) Now transfer the batter into a vessel and mix it once. It should be like a regular dosa batter consistency. 

7) Add about 2tsp salt and mix well. 

8) Heat the tawa, add a drop of oil and spread it well. Then, sprinkle some water. 

9) Pour 2 ladles of batter on the tawa and spread it evenly. (As shown in my video) and add few drops of oil around the dosa. 

10) Cook untill it turns slightly brown & crispy (but dosa is mostly soft with a slight crisp to it). 


Serve the hot hot dosa with Coconut chutney or chutney powder. 

Southekayi Dose/Cucumber Dosa is ready to serve and eat!!
