Mushroom Manchurian | Dry style | Appetizers

Recipe: Mushroom Manchurian - Oriental Cusine Appetizer

Ingredients: 

1) Onion sliced- 2 no's

2) White Button Mushroom - 1 Large 

3) Capsicum diced - 1 no

4) Gram flour/Besan  - 3tbsp 

5) Corn Flour - 3tbsp 

6) Rice flour - 3tbsp 

7) Pepper powder - 2tsp

8) Soya Sauce - 1tbsp 

9) Red chili sauce - 2tbsp 

10) Tomato sauce - 3-4 tbsp approx. 

11) Red chilli powder - 2tsp 

12) Spring onions/coriander leaves for garnish. 

13) Ginger garlic paste -1tsp 

14) Water 

15) Salt as required. 

16) Oil


Preparation Method: 

1) Firstly, wash and clean the mushrooms with cold water so that it's clean and safe to eat, drain the water once done. 

2) Next, cut half the quantity into halfs and the other half can be used whole itself. 

3) Take a bowl, add gram flour/besan, rice flour, corn flour, red chilli powder, pepper powder & salt. 

4) Mix all ingredients together and add water slowly as required to make a thick batter. 

5) Keep whisking evenly to avoid lumps & keep it aside. 

6) Add few fresh coriander leaves to the mixed batter.

7) Next, heat oil in a kadai/pan.  

8) Add ginger garlic paste,  sliced onions & fry them until translucent/goldenish. 

9) Add the diced capsicum and fry well. 

10) Toss the veggies well until the onions turn slightly brown and capsicum gets cooked.

11) Add the sauces - Soya sauce, red chilli sauce, tomato sauce & salt and mix well. Let it cook for 5 min. 

*Kindly note: The measurement of these sauces are as per choice of spice, tanginess & sweetness. 

12) Next, heat oil in a kadai for frying the mushrooms. 

13) Dip the mushrooms in the prepared batter and drop it into the oil. 

14) Fry them well until they turn golden brown. 

15) Once its ready, drain the fried mushrooms onto a tissue paper. 

16) Heat the pan with veggies and sauce and add the corn flour slurry (corn flour+water) 

17) Add the fried mushrooms into it, just mix it or give it a toss do not overcook. 

18) Garnish with coriander leaves or spring onions (its Optional) 


Mushroom Manchurian is ready to serve & eat!
