Dill Leaves Vada/ Sabsige Soppina Vade - Indian snacks

Recipe: Sabsige Soppina Vade / Dill Leaves Vada 


Ingredients: 

1) Chana Dal - 1.5 cup 

2) Byadgi + guntur dry red chili - 3 no's each 

3) Dill leaves Freshly chopped (Sabsige soppu)- 1/2 bunch (quantity as desired) 

4) Onions chopped - 1 large 

5) Turmeric powder - 2tsp 

6) Coriander leaves - 1Cup

7) Curry leaves - 10-12 leaves

8) Hing/Asafoetida - as per taste 

9) Grated coconut - 1/2 Cup 

10) Water 

11) Salt to taste

12) Oil


Preparation Method:

1) Soak 1.5 cups chana dal in a vessel with guntur and byadgi dry red chillis for 1 hour. (As shown in my video)

2) Now, drain out the water and grind the chana dal and chillis in a mixer jar and make a coarse paste. (As shown) 

3) Transfer the contents into a bowl. 

4) Add turmeric powder, coriander leaves,  curry leaves, hing, chopped onions and salt to taste. 

5) Now add the fresh dill leaves/sabsige soppu into the bowl. 

Note: Kindly wash the dill leaves nicely in water removing all the mud/dirt. 

6) Add grated coconut and mix them all together. 

7) Now take small portions of the nixture & roll them into balls. 

8) Next, heat oil in a kadai for deep frying the vadas.

9) Now, flatten the mixture on your palms and drop them into the hot oil (As shown in my Video)

10) Remove once they turn golden. 

11) Serve hot with tomato sauce or green chutney. 

Sabsige Soppina Vade/Dill leaves Vada is ready to serve & eat!
