Paneer Butter Masala/ Paneer Makhanwala - Indian Curries
Recipe: Paneer Butter Masala/ Paneer Makhanwala.
Ingredients:
1) Onions - Roughly chopped 2 no's
2) Tomatoes - Roughly chopped 3 no's
3) Dalchini - 2-3pieces
4) Bay leaves - 2 pieces
5) Cashew nuts - A handful or 15-20 pieces
6) Garlic cloves - 4-5no's
7) Ginger - 2-3 small pieces
8) Green chilli - 3-4 nos
9) Butter - 1Cup
10) Jeera - 2tsp
11) Ginger garlic paste - 1tsp
12) Red chilli powder - 1tsp.
13) Garam masala - 1/2 tsp.
14) Kasuri methi leaves - garnishing.
15) Oil - as required
16) Water - 1-2 glass
17) Paneer - 200gms
18) Coriander leaves for garnish. - chopped
Preparation Method:
1) Heat a kadhai and add 2tsp butter
2) Then add Dalchini/cinnamon, bay leaves, garlic, ginger & green chillies.
3) Fry them slightly, then add cashews.
4) Now add the Roughly chopped onions & tomatoes fry them well for 2-3min.
5) Add few drops of oil if you require and keep sautéing.
6) Add 1 glass of water to it, close the lid and cook for 5min, let it boil well.
7) Once its done turn off the stove and keep aside. (let it cool down completely)
8) Now grind all of this into a fine paste. Remove the Bay leaves and Dalchini before grinding. (As shown in my video)
*Note: This is done because we dont want the flavours to overpower our dish.
9) Next, heat another 2tsp butter in the same kadai.
10) Add jeera, ginger garlic paste and fry it slightly, then to it add the freshly cut paneer cubes. (As shown in my video). Shallow fry them slightly in the butter.
11) Now, pour the masala over the paneer and mix it well.
12) Let it boil well, add salt to taste, 1tsp red chilli powder and sprinkle some garam masala on it.
13) Close lid for 2min and cook. The texture looks perfect. ( As shown in my video)
14) Add some crushed kasuri methi leaves and chopped coriander leaves on top for garnish. (This also gives a nice aroma to the final dish)
15) Add 1tsp cream on top (optional, I have not added it)
Eat this along any Indian Bread!! Roti/Chapathi, Kulcha/Naan etc..
Delicious Makkhan Bhari Paneer Butter Masala is ready to Serve & Eat!!
