Beetroot Palya/Curry - Indian Curries

Recipe: Beetroot Palya/Curry 



Ingredients: 

1) Beetroot - 3-4 nos chopped 

2) Mustard seeds- 1tsp

3) Chana dal - 1tsp 

4) Urad dal - 1tsp 

5) Red chilli - 4-5 pieces

6) Turmeric - 1tsp

7) Curry leaves - 6-7 pieces

8) Grated coconut - 1cup

9) Oil

10) Water 

11) Salt to taste. 


Preparation Method:

1) Wash, peel the beetroot and cut it into medium sized pieces. 

2) Add some water and 1 tsp salt to into it & pressure cook for 2 whistles. (As shown in my video) 

3) Once its done, let it cool

4) Next, heat oil in a kadai, add all oggarne spices (As shown in my video) mentioned above. 

5) Add turmeric & curry leaves and saute.

6) Once the oggarne is roasted well add the boiled beetroot. 

7) Mix it well and add about 1 tsp salt (or as desired). 

8) Add grated coconut and mix it well. 


You can serve this best with chapathi/phulka or even with Rice rasam/Dal rice.
