Gulab Jamun - Instant Recipes!!
Recipe: Gulab Jamun - MTR Instant Sweets
Ingredients:
1) MTR Jamun mix - 320gms (Brand is your choice)
2) Water
3) Oil
4) Crushed pistachios
5) Ghee (to grease your palm)
For the sugar syrup :
1) Sugar - 2 cups
2) Water - 2 cups
3) Saffron / kesri - 1/2 tsp
4) Elaichi/cardomom powder - 1tsp
Preparation Method:
1) Take any jamun mix of your choice, I've used MTR mix 320gms, transfer the mix to a bowl.
2) If there are lumps, mix it once to remove them.
3) Add water little by little. I used around 1/4 cup water. You can either replace water with milk or add little milk along water.
4) Knead the dough just use your finger tips for mixing, keep the dough aside for 15 mins.
5) For the sugar syrup - Take equal qty of sugar & water. Add sugar in a pan, add water to it, let it boil. (As shown in my Video)
6) Add saffron and elaichi powder and let the syrup boil and reduce (becomes slightly thick).
7) Once done, turn off the gas and set aside to cool.
(I'm transfering syrup into another wide vessel to soak our fried Jamun).
8) Now grease your palm with ghee, take small portions of dough and roll into a small ball (make sure there are no cracks as that could break the jamun while frying)
9) Heat oil in a kadai - the oil should not be very hot.
10) Once the oil is heated, add few of the balls into the kadai.
11) Fry them slowly (As shown in my video) Keep frying until they turn golden brown, on low to medium flame.
12) Remove it and keep aside for oil to drain out (do not immediately dip in sugar syrup, this might cause in breaking of jamun).
13) Once the jamuns and the syrup is warm add the jamuns to sugar syrup.
14) Let it soak atleast for 2 hours before you serve.
Note: After that if you want you can refrigerate it.
Serve warm or chilled.
